7 Must-Have Skin-Care Products To Try In 2019
If you know me, you know that I am obsessed with skin care products. I am always looking for new products to try, not because I need to, but because it’s fun and I love trying new things. It’s always exciting coming across a new product and I live for that excitement. My skin-care collection really shows that I am not afraid to try different things. But, maybe I’m just trying to cover up the fact that I am slightly a hoarder. Slightly.
The reason I love trying new things is because I research a lot so I am always coming across new products and I have hit the jackpot quite a few times. It is important to know what type of skin you have so that you can know what kind of products will work well with your skin. For me, I have normal/combination skin. My noise gets oilier than the rest of my skin but honestly, that has never stopped me from purchasing oil-based products. I love when my skin looks dewey but I have to be careful to not cross that line and go over to oily because things get real, real fast.
Luckily, I’ve always had very good skin. I am fortunate enough to not have any serious skin-care problems that millions of people face. However, I do have a touch of eczema but it has never really gotten in the way of my routine. Other than the occasional period pimple and allergic reactions to medication or the many foods I cannot eat, my skin has always been pretty clear.
As the new year approaches, I wanted to compile a list of my favorite skin-care products of 2018 for you to try in 2019. I will be dropping a video to show how I use these products and hopefully these suggestions will prompt you to take your skin care routine to the next level. Check out my list below.
Green Tea Cleanser
This green tea cleanser is definitely one of my favorites for 2018. It really goes deep into your pores to get all of the day’s gunk out. It feels very clean and the best part is, it’s all natural. However, it can dry out your skin if you use too much. When I use this, I follow this up with a really good moisturizer. Try this cleanser from 7ChakraSoaps here.
2. 7 Chakras Soap Co Hibiscus Facial Toner
7Chakras Soap Co, Hibiscus Facial Toner
I put this sh*t on everything. Honestly. Truly. I have been using the 7 Chakras Soap Co, Hibiscus Toner for over a year now and I am in love. Like everyone else, I was using Mario Badescu’s famous, Facial Spray but decided to switch to a more natural product. The Hibiscus Toner has the perfect blend of ingredients that leaves your skin feeling radiant and soft, no matter if you choose to use it as a toner or a facial spray. I use this all the time, in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, whenever. I usually use it as a toner but have also used it as a refresher. It works well as both.
3. Peter Thomas Roth, Water Drench Hyaluronic Acid Cloud Cream
This product is the newest in my skin care regimen. But it has easily become one of my go-to’s. It is a serum with the perfect consistency. It goes on so smoothly on your skin, leaving a layer of complete smoothness. The hyaluronic acid component was the main reason I decided to purchase this and I am definitely pleased. If you don’t know what hyaluronic acid is, it is a hydrator found naturally in the body that provides intense moisture, increases skin elasticity and actually pulls in moisture from the atmosphere. Isn’t that amazing? To learn more about hyaluronic acid, click here. To purchase this cloud cream, click here.
4. Ayele Co Sunflower Sweets Serum
Ayele.Co Sunflower Sweets Serum
This is the holy grail of all holy grails. This Sunflower Sweets Serum is it! This is an oil serum that you can use before a moisturizer or as one. I use it as a moisturizer because I don’t need anything else after rubbing it into my skin. It gives my skin a healthy and beautiful glow without looking greasy. It has even improved my skin texture over time. I have convinced my friends, mother and even an ex-boyfriend to try it and now they all still continue use it. Even if you have oily skin, this product is worth the try. This serum will forever be a part of my skin-care routine.
5. Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum
The Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum is one of my favorite eye serums I have ever used and I’ve used quite a few and nothing comes quite as close to this one. When I started using it, I very quickly saw the difference that the serum was making. My under eyes were brighter and softer after just a few uses. I will say, this serum is on the pricey side as it retails for a whopping $85. Yes, I know. I know. If you cannot afford this, I also use Ayele.co’s Virgin Rose Eye Cream. It leaves my my under eyes soft and well moisturized and only retails for just $16.
6. 7 Chakras Soap Co Coffee Scrub
7Chakras Soap Co, Roasted Coffee Scrub
As you can tell, I am a huge fan of 7Chakras Soap Co! I honestly love this scrub. It really leaves my skin feeling rejuvenated and extremely soft. I really don’t know when the best time to use this scrub is but I use it night or day. It is a great coffee scrub to have and I’ll continue to use it, at least until I find something better.
7. Alikay Naturals, Tropical Splash Body Icing
This is the only product listed that is not a face product but I had to give it an honorable mention. The glow that the Tropical Body Icing gives me is real. It MOISTURIZES my skin as shea butter is known to do but it isn’t heavy thanks to it being a whipped butter. I don’t absolutely love the smell but it’s pleasant enough to where I don’t mind putting it all over my body. I mean just look at that glow.
